BISHKEK, Jul 6 (PRIME) -- Alliance Altyn, a unit of Russian Platinum, plans to start gold production at Kyrgyzstan’s Jerooy field in 2018 and to produce about 87 tonnes of gold by 2043, a representative for Russian Platinum told PRIME Wednesday.

The company plans to produce 1.3 million tonnes of ore per year at an open-pit mine in the period from 2018 through 2031, and to switch to underground mining after 2031 and produce 700,000 tonnes of ore per year until 2043.

The company expects the project’s capital expenditures to stand at U.S. $307 million.

Previously, the Eurasian Development Bank agreed to help Alliance Altyn to attract $200 million of financing for development of the Jerooy field, also known as Dzherui.
